Sergio's Journey: A Story of Courage, Commitment, and Team Spirit | ACER ESG
At Acer, we believe that every individual has the power to create impact through their actions. Sergio Perez Vega’s journey is a powerful example of this belief and determination.
Sergio, a wheelchair user, is a technician at Acer. His colleague from the warehouse department, Jesús Perez Castano, is a long-time advocate for social responsibility. Jesús is a member of Corresolidaris, a non-profit association that promotes sports as a tool for social inclusion and support.
In 2023, Jesús encouraged Sergio to join Corresolidaris and enter his very first swimming competition, sponsored by Acer. Sergio began his training, starting with a 250-meter swim from the shore, he eventually achieved his personal best of 5 kilometers in open water. With determination and courage, Sergio not only completed the races but also sent a powerful message to his colleagues and to society: sports is not only about competition, but also about self-improvement, inclusion, and unity.
His story soon inspired others. More colleagues joined the event, which became a meaningful charitable initiative — with all proceeds donated to support people facing medical challenges and difficult life circumstances. Sergio’s perseverance made him a role model among his peers, demonstrating the dual value of sports × social responsibility.
In 2024, his journey faced an unexpected turn when his competition team was dissolved, preventing him from participating as planned. Yet Sergio’s motivation never faded. With support from Corresolidaris, he continued to compete in adapted races, receiving the guidance and assistance he needed to remain active in new competitions.
In 2025, Enfinitec (subsidiary of Acer) once again showed its support. Together, we took part in a charity walk and a team race, with employee participation doubling compared to the previous year — and even extending to their families. Because we believe some races go beyond speed: they are about the steps we take together — towards hope, towards supporting others, towards a better tomorrow.
Today, Sergio’s journey is more than a personal story. It embodies the spirit of Acer. Proudly supported by Acer and Enfinitec, this initiative reflects our commitment to people, purpose, and diversity, reminding us that true success is achieved when we move forward together.

In the water, we are all equal. It’s the same for me at Enfinitec: when working, we are all equal

What motivates me the most is taking part in a charitable collaboration to contribute our small part, as well as encouraging staff to join initiatives.
