Acer Italy Promotes Gender Equality in Esports | ACER ESG
Since March 2023, Acer Italy has partnered with LXT Esports, Italy’s first female esports team for Valorant, by equipping their Milan gaming house with Predator gaming desktops, monitors, laptops, and peripherals. This partnership aims to support a group of talented gamers, who have overcome gender-related challenges to start their competitive journey, by helping them to balance time between study and work.
Although 40% of gamers in Italy are women, many face cyberbullying, pay gaps, and fewer sponsorships. The spirit of the Predator brand aims to normalize women’s presence in esports, fight stereotypes, and highlight inclusivity. Gaming not only empowers women but also fosters interest in STEM fields, where female representation in Italy remains at just 20%.
"Gaming and eSports are by their nature very inclusive," commented Angelo D’Ambrosio, General Manager, Acer South Europe. "They allow us to overcome geographical and physical barriers that characterize traditional sports. We are excited to support the new all-female LXT Esports team, with the aim of reducing gender gap in this area even more."
Acer Italy not only provided hardware support in this collaboration, but also participated in over 10 public events, including university lectures and mentoring events, gaming fairs, talks, podcasts, live streaming with relevant players like Redbull to discuss Women in Games, generating broader market attention and discussion.
LXT Esports was the winner of the Italian championship of Valorant in 2024, demonstrating their gaming prowess and that gender is not relevant when it comes to esports. In 2025, LXT Esports will merge to become a mixed team of both male and female players, demonstrating that their determination has reached the goal of overcoming stereotypes.
Acer is proud to have supported Italy's first all-female Valorant team, LXT Esports, composed of a group of young, passionate, and talented professional players. Acer has provided the team with Predator gaming devices, aiming to offer the best allies for their gameplay. This initiative demonstrated Acer's concrete belief in and support for female gamers, who are role models capable of showcasing their value and skills, fighting against persistent gender stereotypes in the industry

At Riot, publisher of Valorant game, we firmly believe that women in gaming need more visibility. We need entities that believe in female gaming and companies willing to invest resources to give it the spotlight it deserves. In this regard, we can only applaud the collaboration between Acer and LXT Esports, hoping that others will soon follow this excellent example.
