As an industry leader in gaming and creator-class displays, Acer designs OLED monitors that deliver deep blacks, vivid colors, and ultra-fast response times. These qualities make fast-moving content appear smooth and visuals look exceptionally sharp and vibrant. While OLED technology provides outstanding image quality, these panels are more susceptible to image burn-in, also known as permanent image retention.
Acer is committed to help ensure your OLED panels are protected from the negative impacts of image retention and burn-in, to ensure you get the longest life from your Acer monitor. Our OLED panels include an
Image Retention Refresh feature that helps prevent uneven pixel wear and image burn-in. In addition, if your product does experience permanent image persistence or burn-in, Acer will cover any burn-in damage to your monitor under warranty for 3 years.
How to prevent permanent image persistence and burn-in?
Users with OLED monitors should consider enabling the image retention refresh feature and following these best practices to help prevent burn-in:
- Enable your monitor’s Image Retention Refresh setting
- If you observe image burn in on your OLED monitor, manually run the Image Retention Refresh Option in the Monitor settings to help resolve it
- Avoid leaving static content on the screen for an extended time. This includes taskbars, desktop icons, game HUDs, and paused videos
- Auto-hide taskbars
- Use dark mode when possible
- Lowering brightness settings
- Set the display to turn off after short periods of inactivity
- Vary on-screen content periodically to help minimize uneven pixel wear over time
