Maverick Shih is the Chairman for Acer Cyber Security Inc. and Acer Synergy Tech. When Acer acquired cloud specialist company iGware Inc. in 2011, Shih joined Acer as special assistant to the president of the cloud business unit, helping oversee personal cloud services and laying the foundation for the company’s cloud service development. In 2014, Shih was appointed as the president Acer’s BYOC (Build Your Own Cloud) Business and assisted in the overall transformation of Acer.

Shih graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics at Fu Jen Catholic University, then pursued further study in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California where he earned a Ph.D. Shih’s research focused on the recognition of multimedia through AI, which created for him a solid foundation and expertise in the fields of technological innovation and system integration.
