The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) announced today that Acer, a global leader in computers, software and technology services, is the newest Official Marketing Partner in the LPGA family and will be the Official Tablet of the LPGA this tournament season.
As an Official Marketing Partner for the LPGA, Acer is sponsoring Acer Connection Zones, lounges outfitted with its award-winning and Aspire Switch Series 2-in-1 notebooks at upcoming tournaments in North America. The popular Acer Aspire Switch Series are the Official Tablet of the LPGA and combine a full Microsoft Windows 8.1-based notebook and tablet in one flexible device that can switch between four modes including notebook, pad, display and tent.
Acer Connection Zones will be located in the player locker rooms as a venue for players to Skype™ with friends, coaches and family, keep up on news and relax. The Aspire Switch Series will also be leveraged at on-site tournament media centers, enabling global and domestic media to conduct interviews with players via Skype.
“We’re excited to bring the ‘Acer Connection Zone’ to our players as a new, fun and more engaging way for our players to stay connected while they’re on the road,” said Kelly Hyne, VP of Strategic Partnerships for the LPGA. “Acer has been a supporter of the LPGA for the last three years and this concept takes our partnership to a new level.”
“While on the road, it’s great to be able to escape to a relaxing environment and communicate with my family face-to-face via videoconference, while Skype also enables me to benefit from visual demonstrations and feedback from my coach,” said LPGA Tour professional Pernilla Lindberg.
“Acer is proud to be an official marketing partner of the LPGA and the official tablet provider for this renowned organization,” said Kim Phipps, Acer global marketing and brand director. “As a global company, we appreciate that our partnership will not only increase our brand visibility with key audiences here in North America but worldwide via tournament broadcasts. We’re delighted that we can support the LPGA as it grows here and abroad, while connecting LPGA players with family, friends, media and the world at large.”
In addition to the Acer Connection Zone on site, Acer will have a presence throughout the season with hospitality and advertising, digital integration on LPGA.com and social media channels. Acer will also sponsor several features throughout the season on the Golf Channel. For the third consecutive year, Acer will serve as presenting sponsor at the upcoming ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey.
