Acer Canada today announced that it has renewed its status as an Official Partner of the Toronto Blue Jays and will have an expanded role with the Jays Care Foundation for the 2015 baseball season. As the exclusive category partner for laptops and tablets, Acer’s presence will again be highlighted by marketing programs and stadium promotions designed to ensure Toronto Blue Jays fans enjoy their favorite team while learning more about Acer.
Acer’s 2014 partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays was extremely successful, resulting in more than 500 million impressions from the various campaign elements.
“Acer is very pleased to continue its role as an Official Partner of the Toronto Blue Jays,” said Terry Tomecek, General Manager, Acer Canada. “This partnership is the perfect fit between Canada’s leading provider of notebooks and Canada’s only Major League Baseball team, as well as one of the country’s most beloved sports franchises. For the 2015 season, we will retain all of the successful elements of last year’s partnership and add some exciting new elements and increased involvement in Jays Care Foundation. This alliance is an outstanding way to connect with and engage with baseball fans.”
“The Toronto Blue Jays are thrilled to continue our partnership with a category leader such as Acer. We look forward to helping Acer continue to connect with our passionate fans,” added Mark Ditmars, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Blue Jays.
Throughout the season, Blue Jays fans will have the opportunity to play for Acer products by participating in social media based promotions. Acer will also receive significant branding throughout Rogers Centre, including a double outfield wall position, digital signage and an in-game feature.
In 2015, Acer will become the lead Technology Partner for the Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction in support of Jays Care Foundation. Acer technology will be featured and used to help this national program raise more than $250,000 in one evening.
Acer will also continue to support Jays Care Foundation partnerships through the Home Run Scholars program, which helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training.
To celebrate the renewal of this marketing partnership, Acer Corporate President and CEO Jason Chen will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Blue Jays’ home game against the Baltimore Orioles on April 21, 2015.
