Acer V6 Series Monitors Honored with Global Efficiency Medal for Energy Saving Designs - Recognized by the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial

Acer is proud to announce that three Acer V6 series computer monitors have each been awarded with the 2014 Global Efficiency Medal by the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative. The Global Efficiency Medal recognizes the world’s most energy-efficient computer monitors.
SEAD is an international collaboration of 16 member economies and an initiative under the Clean Energy Ministerial. According to SEAD, computer monitors can account for up to 35% of a desktop computer’s energy consumption.
The three Acer V6 series monitors recognized for outstanding energy efficiency were winners in the following categories and regions:
•The Acer V196HQL with 18.5” display, Small Size category, North America
•The Acer V226 HQL with 21.5” display, Medium Size category, India
•The Acer V246HL with 24” display, Large Size category, India
All monitors feature AcereColor and ComfyView technologies for colorful, clear visuals and glare reduction, and LED backlit LCD displays which consume minimal energy. They also use PCR (post-consumer recycled) ABS for more than 10% of total plastic weight to help save natural resources. The intelligent, ergonomic and eco-friendly construction details have earned these monitors the EPEAT® Gold ranking and are TCO Certified.

The SEAD Global Efficiency Medal competition is an international awards program that identifies the most energy-efficient, top-performing equipment, appliances and electronics demonstrating reduced electricity use. The competition encourages manufacturers to develop innovative products that set higher energy-saving standards for the marketplace and encourages consumer adoption of top performing models.
