Furthering 21st century learning, Acer America today announced the Acer Extreme Classroom Technology Makeover program that provides K-12 schools in the U.S. the opportunity to transform a classroom with immersive tablet technology. Acer will be awarding an educator with a classroom set of Acer Iconia W Series tablets with a retail value of $15,000. Its goal is to help teachers and their students benefit from the latest technology.

With educators spending their own money to improve their classrooms, the Acer Extreme Classroom Technology Makeover is designed to help a winning teacher alleviate some of that burden. Tablets enhance the learning experience by making it more hands-on, interactive and engaging as well as encouraging collaboration to explore more.

“We’re excited to be able to help educators utilize the benefits of touch technology by making learning more relevant for today’s students,” said Rich Black, Acer America director of marketing. “Today’s youth do not know a world without touch technology. Leveraging touch-enabled tablets that are Common Core compliant(1) in the classroom as part of everyday curriculum creates a far richer educational experience with real-world applications and scenarios.”

How It Works
Acer is inviting educators to submit a summary using video, images or text describing why their classroom deserves a makeover. The summary should demonstrate how they would use tablets to enhance the learning experience in their classroom and help students explore more.

Acer will select 10 finalists and the contest winner will be determined by public voting. The winner will receive a classroom set of Acer Iconia W Series tablets with an approximate retail value of $15,000 for 30 tablets.

The contest is open to all educators for K-12 students in the United States with one entry permissible per school. Collaboration between school educators and students is encouraged. Click on the following link to see a list of all contest rules for submission.
