Creating for Creators

with Western Washington University, USA

Animation, Art, Graphics

The Western Washington University (WWU) Industrial Design Program is a nationally accredited program that prepares graduates to begin working as practicing designers in corporate, consulting, or entrepreneurial positions. In partnership with ConceptD, senior students within this program were given the challenge of developing a new product that might fit within the ConceptD brand, while also keeping core tenets of sustainability and accessibility in mind.

Demonstrating Acer’s commitment to education, each student in the program was given a ConceptD 7 laptop to use, providing the flexibility to run complex 3D modeling programs while on the go - eliminating the need to be in an on-campus computer lab.

After rounds of preliminary research, concepting, and refinement, the students produced three potential new product extensions that were designed to address specific pain points felt within the creator community.
